Cypress Engine Accessories named EMIT distributor

15 April 2021

Cypress Engine Accessories has been named a North American distributor for EMIT Technologies’ gas compression products, including EMIT’s Dynamic Control panel, a multifunctional control system for natural gas compression applications.

Cypress Engine Accessories has been named as an authorized distributor for EMIT Technologies’ gas compression products in North America. The primary products included in the agreement are EMIT’s Dynamic Control systems, air-fuel ratio controllers, catalyst systems and replacement elements.

“The relationship with EMIT aligns well with our focus on improving engine and compressor performance and environmental compliance. We have been working closely with the EMIT team since February, and it is clear to us that their products and technology provide unique advantages in this market,” said Jon Yaunke, founder and CEO of Cypress Engine. “The interest level we are seeing already from our end-user customer base is very encouraging.”

The biggest benefit of the partnership for customers is an integrated solution rather than a series of discrete products and services, said Jay Burnette, acting COO of Cypress Engine. Cypress Engine has the ability to take EMIT products and technology and integrate them into existing systems. “We offer complete installation and commissioning services, troubleshooting and aftersales service, Burnette said. “We also are equipped to provide local replacement parts from any of four inventory branches in the U.S.”

Casey D. Osborne, CEO of EMIT Technologies said the partnership works because Cypress Engine has demonstrated its deep customer relationships with end-users in the gas compression industry. “Establishing and growing relationships with end-users and fleet owners in this territory are critical to achieving our growth objectives,” he said.

EMIT said its research shows that demand for its products, particularly its Dynamic Control engine and compressor controls, is increasing.

Founded in 2000, EMIT Technologies designs and manufactures products and services for the natural gas compression industry. Headquartered in Sheridan, Wy., with an additional manufacturing facility in Greeley, Colo., EMIT specializes in developing products engineered to improve the performance and environmental compliance of engine-driven systems.

Cypress Engine was founded in 2005 and provides a variety of product and services designed to help customers improve equipment reliability and environmental compliance. The company’s products and services are also designed to improve natural gas systems used in midstream oil and gas and power generation applications.  Cypress is based northwest of Houston, Texas and has sales and service branches in Kilgore, Weatherford and Midland, Texas.

Burnette said Cypress Engine looked into the partnership because it wanted to double the size of its business by 2025. He said the company’s strategic plan has four growth areas: monitoring and control solutions, ignition products and systems, environmental compliance and high-value service solutions.

And when it comes to monitoring and controls, partnering with EMIT Technologies seemed like the logical choice. “They have the best in class technology, and their product offering in engine and compressors and engine air-fuel ratio controls is top tier.” Yaunke said.

Meanwhile, EMIT Technologies was looking for a new channel to market its gas compression products portfolio that would allow the company to focus more time and energy on manufacturing, he said, adding that the Cypress Engine business model is focused on the ‘last mile’ service and support of end-user customers, with a national business focus but a very local customer support structure.
