By DJ Slater21 April 2020

Burckhardt Compression completed the acquisition of the global compressor business from Japan Steel Works Ltd., a manufacturer of steel, industrial machinery and power plant equipment.

Neither company disclosed the acquisition price. The transaction was first announced on March 4.

Burckhardt made the move to improve its market presence in Japan. Japan Steel Works generated CHF 1.9 billion in overall sales in 2018, with 1% to 2% of that amount coming from the compressor business.
