Baker Hughes, a GE Company (BHGE), will supply Saudi Aramco with 27 gas compression trains to boost production in the Haradh and Hawiyah gas fields.

With the implementation of the US$175 million order, Saudi Aramco plans to double gas production in the region to 23 Bcfd (0.65 X 109 m3) over the course of the next decade. This is consistent with Saudi Arabia’s goal of increasing the share of natural gas in the energy mix from 50 to 70%.

The 27 compressor trains, comprised of compressors, gearboxes, electric motors and loop oil systems, will be manufactured in Italy and packaged in Saudi Arabia.
