AW-Lake appoints Champion as GM amid push to expand flow measurement business in the Americas

AW-Lake has named Claude Champion as general manager as the Wisconsin-based flow measurement manufacturer looks to strengthen commercial growth and expand customer support across North and South America.

Champion brings experience in industrial technology management, sales leadership and business development, joining the company during a period of continued expansion in flow measurement applications across energy and industrial markets.

According to AW-Lake, Champion will focus on sales strategy, distribution partnerships, strategic accounts and new business development opportunities throughout the Americas.

Most recently, Champion served as sales director for the industrial segment at LEM, where he helped reshape the company’s go-to-market strategy. He previously served as general manager of LEM USA, overseeing regional strategy, operations, sales and organizational development initiatives.

The leadership transition also includes a new role for Chris Husson, who served as AW-Lake’s general manager for nearly two years. Husson, a more than 30-year veteran of the company, has moved into the role of director of operations.

In that position, Husson will focus on manufacturing efficiency, Lean production initiatives and operational improvements intended to support the company’s next phase of growth.

“This move reflects deep respect for Chris’s experience while allowing both Chris and Claude to focus where their strengths can have the greatest impact,” Norris said.

Founded in 1984, AW-Lake manufactures flow meters, monitoring systems and related instrumentation used across a wide range of industrial sectors, including oil and gas, power generation, industrial processing and manufacturing.

Within the oil and gas sector, AW-Lake’s flow measurement technologies are used in hydraulic systems, lubrication circuits, chemical injection systems and other fluid-monitoring applications associated with upstream, midstream and industrial energy operations. The company’s products support operators seeking improved process visibility, equipment protection and fluid-management accuracy.

The company also supplies instrumentation used in hydraulic fracturing support systems, compressor lubrication applications and industrial process control environments where accurate flow measurement is critical to reliability and efficiency.

AW-Lake said the company continues to position itself around broader industrial trends tied to operational efficiency, environmental performance and process monitoring.
