Atlas Copco acquires German compressed air specialist

Atlas Copco continues to build its product portfolio with the acquisition of DF-Druckluft-Fachhandel GmbH, a German online platform for compressed air solutions and a provider of consulting services for various application segments. Acquired for an undisclosed price, the business will become part of Atlas Copco’s Professional Air division within its Compressor Technique Business Area.

Based in Herrenberg, Stuttgart, DF-Druckluft-Fachhandel GmbH is a privately owned company with 39 employees and a presence in both Germany and Austria.

“DF-Druckluft-Fachhandel is a well-established company with proven expertise in online sales of compressed air solutions and equipment, making them a good fit for us,” said Vagner Rego, Business Area President, Compressor Technique. “This acquisition will increase our market share in the online business, as well as strengthen our service to local customers in this crucial region.”

This latest acquisition comes close on the heels of separate announcements late last month that Atlas Copco had completed the acquisition of Geveke, an Amsterdam-based distributor of compressors and components parts, and its agreement to purchase U.S.-based Montana Instruments Corporation, a cryostat service provider. The company also recently completed the acquisitions of French compressor distributor FITEC S.A.S. and Singapore-based Bireme Group, a specialist in the treatment of compressed air and gas.
