ASME Cancels Turbo Expo

21 April 2020

The ASME Turbomachinery Technical Conference and Exposition has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The event was scheduled for June 22-26 at the ExCel London Convention Center in London, England.

The convention center is being used as a field hospital (NHS Nightingale) for coronavirus patients and is expected to remain this way until June 26.

“As a consequence, Turbo Expo cannot be held as planned,” ASME said in a statement. “Therefore, we are exploring other value propositions including virtual presentations to bring the strong connection and content of Turbo Expo to you.”

ASME plans to publish the papers from the canceled event through its usual channels. The timing of publication is not yet known, but the organizing committee is finalizing it. The organization will also send out a survey to determine the best way to distribute Turbo Expo 2020 content.
