Exline Buys Nortex Field Services

05 November 2019

Exline, Inc., the Salina, Ks., provider of components and services for the gas compression, power generation and industrial manufacturing industries, announced it has acquired Nortex Field Services, Sherman Texas. No financial terms were provided.

Established in 1979, Nortex Field Services provides field machining services to the gas transmission, refinery and petrochemical industries. Exline said Nortex’s services will compliment and expand the field machining services that Exline has provided since the early 1940’s.

“We are very excited about the addition of Nortex Field Services,” said Rob Exline, CEO of Exline, Inc. since 1994. “They have strong, long-standing relationships with their customers, and we are excited to expand our complimentary products and services to them.

“Both Nortex and Exline, Inc. have both been family run companies for many years, so our company cultures have many similarities, and we look forward to the process of joining forces with Nortex.”

Nortex provides an array of machining services designed to significantly reduce downtime and cost through the utilization of portable machining and thermal spray equipment at the customer’s location. The company specializes in the repair and modification of reciprocating engines and gas compressors, with capabilities including wire-line and line bore of bearing bores, engine and compressor frame crack repairs and compressor cylinder restoration.

Harold Finney, owner of Nortex has more than 50 years of experience in field machining. “Our goal has always been to do the best job, the way the customer wants the job done,” Finney said. “We feel that Exline, Inc. with their goals of providing excellent customer service and quality work will continue the spirit of what we have tried to accomplish at Nortex. We are looking forward to the transition of joining with Exline.”

Exline, Inc., founded in 1872, offers a broad range of products and services specifically focused on maintaining and improving the reliability of reciprocating engines and compressors. The services provided by the company’s field service team, led by Ray Nunemaker, align closely with the services that Nortex provides, according to Exline.  With Nunemaker’s retirement, Nortex will be merged with Exline’s field machining division, which will be led by Finney. The division will continue to operate out of the existing Kansas and Texas locations.
