Capstone Gets Follow-Up Order For C800 Microturbine

Capstone Turbine Corp. received a follow-up order for its C800 Signature Series microturbine from a customer in Wyoming.

The microturbine, which will be commissioned in the summer, will provide prime power for auxiliary equipment at an unmanned compression station.

The purchases marks the third one in recent months to support expansion efforts in the region. Horizon Power Systems, Capstone’s distributor in the western United States and Canada, secured the order.

“This particular customer required a solution that offered continuous power, minimal maintenance and downtime due to the inaccessibility of the compression station,” said Jim Crouse, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Capstone. “The single C800S unit will provide ample power for the large compression station in one ultra-low emission and highly reliable package.”
