AW-Lake Releases Edge Flow Sensor

Premium Content

March 23, 2020

AW-Lake Co. has introduced its edge flow sensor designed for flowmeter applications that require an analog, pulse or Modbus signal to a PLC or other control system.

The edge flow sensor, which can be mounted on other meters (AW-Lake gear and turbine flow meters), outputs a frequency, current or analog signal, allowing users to verify connections without the need to run fluid flow.

The sensor provides three optional pulse output configurations, including push/pull, sinking and sourcing. A Modbus output adds additional system compatibility for advanced operations, the company said.

The sensor also has Bluetooth capability and allows users to monitor and program it through a mobile device with a mobile application. This capability also enables operators to remotely configure, set parameters, make adjustments and troubleshoot the sensor remotely. The mobile application also supports basic scaling and advanced functions, allowing for remote correction of non-linear flowmeters to keep a linear analog output.

The sensor’s compact size allows it to fit in small spaces and connect to a computer through a standard USB-C cable.
