Hoerbiger Notes HydroCOM Milestone

JX Nippon Oil & Energy gets the 1000th HydroCOM

Published:

Hoerbiger will ship its 1000th HydroCOM compressor control system to JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corp.

JX ordered its first HydroCOM compressor control system a decade ago and since then has bought 20 systems. In July it ordered nine more units, one of which will be the 1000th HydroCOM built by Hoerbiger.

The unit will be used on a 1676 hp (1250 kW) combined compressor handling hydrogen at JX Holdings’s Negishi refinery.

Hoerbiger developed the stepless capacity control system for reciprocating compressors in 1996. HydroCOM, which is uses electromechanical valve actuators, will soon be complemented by an all-electric version.
