GMRC Schedules Three Courses

Sessions cover foundations, compressor and engine basics

The Gas Machinery Research Council has announced training sessions this summer on foundations, applied principles of engines and compressors and engine analysis and reliability.

The foundation design and repair course will be held June 18-19 in Houston. It will cover reciprocating compressor foundations through inception, design, installation, operation, failure, and repair. Robert L. Rowan & Associates and Tech Transfer Inc. will provide the instructors.

The applied principles of engines and compressors course is scheduled June 17-20 in Houston. The instructor will be Randy Anderson of CECO Training and Technical Services.

An engine analyzer and reliability workshop will be held July 22-24 in Albuquerque. Instructors will be from Catalytic Combustion, Peerless Dynamics, Southwest Research Institute, Solar Turbines, CECO, Sloan Lubrication Systems and Atmos Energy.

U.S. Gas Reserves Jumped 10% in 2013

Proved natural gas proved reserves in in the U.S. jumped 31 Tcf (878 x 109 m3) to a record 354 Tcf (10 x 1012 m3) last year, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) has reported.
