Exterran Holdings has signed a 12-year compression services contract with the consortium BCAM-40 for its compressor station in Bahia, Brazil. Petroleo Brasileiro S.A.(Petrobras) will serve as the field operator for the project, which will use 28,000 hp (20,880 kW) of compression equipment, as well as associated natural gas production equipment.

The land-based compressor station will compress gas from the Manati Field offshore Brazil for transportation via pipeline to a customer-owned natural gas treatment facility in São Francisco do Conde, Brazil. The compressor station is expected to have a total volume capacity of 230 MMscfd (6.5 X 106 m3/d) of natural gas starting in mid-2015.

In addition, Exterran has received a number of other contract compression projects in Latin America during the first quarter of 2014, including two in Mexico involving a total of 19,000 hp (14,168 kW) of compression and another in Colombia utilizing 6000 hp (4474 kW), plus expansions to current projects in Argentina involving an additional 17,000 hp (12,677 kW). The majority of these projects have minimum contract terms of four years.
