CDM Opens Houston Training Facility

It supports expanded instruction program

Published:

CDM Resource Management has completed construction of a 16,000 sq.ft. (1486 m2) training facility near Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston as part of its enhanced training program initiative.

The facility on Consulate Plaza Drive has three classrooms to accommodate 12 to 15 students each, a conference room and 10,000 sq.ft. (930 m2) of space for hands-on instruction with compression and treating equipment, including a functioning gas compressor package.

CDM said its constantly growing workforce has created the need for more basic training. Also, it is providing continuing instruction on Environmental Protection Agency and Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules, including the latter’s more stringent Process Safety Management Standard (see COMPRESSORtech2, May 2014, p. 16).

Basic training will include CDM’s new employee orientation, instruction on governmental safety rules, professional development, and CDM’s full training curriculum including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance classes.

Advanced classes will be offered on electronics, Adem 3 troubleshooting and coupling alignment. Training for CDM customers and their employees is also part of the initiative. CDM also is developing a robust online learning management system platform to provide targeted, on-demand training to technicians whether in the classroom or in the field.
