2015 Turbomachinery Symposium Seeks Papers

Deadline for abstracts is Oct. 30

The Turbomachinery Laboratory is soliciting original papers for presentation at the 44th Turbomachinery and 31st Pump symposia in Houston on Sept. 14-17, 2015.

Detailed abstracts of one to three pages should be submitted to pubs@turbo-lab.tamu.edu by Oct. 20, 2014. For questions, contact publications coordinator Emily Britt at ebritt@turbo-lab.tamu.edu.

The contributions can be in the form of lectures, tutorials, case studies and short courses. The Turbomachinery Laboratory said submitted papers must be free of commercialism and should contain field tested and practical, not theoretical, information.

Invitation letters will be sent to authors by Nov. 30, 2014; full manuscripts are due by March 26, 2015; and final, monitor-approved manuscripts and author forms are due by May 31, 2015.

CNG Export Proposal Pending

USA Compression Partners LP, Austin, said its fleet horsepower has increased 38.9% to 1.3 million hp (1000 MW), compared to the same period last year, aided in part by its acquisition of 138,000 hp (103 MW) from S&R Compression in August 2013.

Compressco Partners Improves Utilization Rate

Compressco Partners of Oklahoma City reported that its average compressor fleet utilization rate was 85.3% during the second quarter, compared to 82.6% in the same period of 2013.
