Uzbekistan to Get Rolls-Royce Compressors

Rolls-Royce received a US$40 million contract to supply equipment and services for an Uzbekistan compressor station on the Turkmenistan-China natural gas pipeline.
Rolls-Royce will supply Asia Trans Gas, a joint venture between Uzbekistan’s Uzbekneftegaz and China’s National Petroleum Corp., with three RB211 gas turbine driven pipeline compressor units for a station on the 330 mile (530 km) Uzbekistan section of the pipeline.
The 1140 mile (1830 km) project will transport 880 Bcfyr (25 x 109 m3/yr) of gas from Turkmenistan and across Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to China.
Rolls-Royce will manufacture and package the equipment at its facilities in Montreal, Quebec and Mount Vernon, Ohio.
