Ariel, Cat Launch Pumping Joint Venture

Ariel Corp. and Caterpillar Inc. have formed a 50-50 joint venture to provide well service pressure pumping products for customers in the global oil and gas industry.
The venture, Black Horse LLC, also has acquired ProSource of Houston, which designs and makes reciprocating pressure pumps for the well service market.
Ariel and Cat said Black Horse would leverage their engineering and manufacturing expertise to expand ProSource’s product line. Frac pumps sold through the combined venture will be branded and sold under the Cat name and distributed through the Cat dealer network.
Black Horse, based in Houston, will be jointly led by executives from Ariel and from Caterpillar's marine and petroleum power division.
