Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Petrofac has awarded Valerus a contract to provide 10,000 hp (7.5 MW) of compression services for two mature onshore fields in Mexico.

Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) selected Petrofac to redevelop the Magallanes and Santuario blocks in Tabasco State, field that Pemex has operated since the early 1960s.

Valerus will begin installing the compression equipment in December and completed the work by March. It also will provide ongoing maintenance and operations services for two years.

Valerus has operated in Mexico since 2004, installing more than 150,000 hp (112 MW) of compression. It also has provided production equipment, processing and treating, and operations and maintenance services. The company said it operates the only ISO:9001 certified facility in Mexico for gas processing services, operations and maintenance.
