Thursday, August 16, 2012

Burckhardt Compression said it will consolidate compressor valve and sealing components activities at its Oberwinterthur, Switzerland, plant at the end of 2012.

Hans Keist will assume management responsibility for the MT Sealing Technology Inc. subsidiary on Dec. 1, 2012 and become a member of the executive board on that date. Effective Jan. 1, MT Sealing Technology and Burckhardt Compression’s valves business will be merged into the new Burckhardt Components AG with Keist as its managing director.

Leonhard Keller, head of valves and a member of the executive board, will hand over his management responsibilities to Keist on Jan. 1, 2013. Keller will assist Keist in scaling up the compressor components manufacturing activities before retiring March 31, 2013.

Burckhardt said Keist previously headed a global business unit at an international industrial company. Keller headed Burckhardt Compression’s design and manufacturing department from 1997 to 2008 and has overseen the growth of the valves business since 2008.
