Atlas Copco Buying Turkish Compressor Firm

Atlas Copco has agreed to acquire the Ekomak Group, a Turkish manufacturer of industrial oil-injected screw compressors.

Privately-owned Ekomak, which has 160 employees, is based in Istanbul and has a manufacturing plant in Edirne, Turkey. It has sales and service operations in Russia and Germany and a network of distributors in other nations.

Ekomak will be part of Atlas Copco’s industrial air division within Compressor Technique. The deal is expected to close during the third quarter of 2012.

Atlas Copco is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Its Compressor Technique business area provides industrial compressors, gas and process compressors and expanders, air and gas treatment equipment and air management systems.
