Siemens Set For Gladstone Project

Siemens Energy has received a contract to provide long-term maintenance for Santos’ Gladstone liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Queensland, Australia.
Siemens said the six-year, multi-million dollar service order includes preventative maintenance, remote monitoring, parts supply, and field service for 16 SGT-400 turbines (nine generator sets and seven compressor sets) at Roma, Fairview One and Fairview Two fields.
The Gladstone project includes the development of coal seam gas in the Bowen and Surat basins, a 260 mile (420 km) pipeline to Gladstone, and two LNG trains on Curtis Island with a combined capacity of 7.1 million tonnes per year. Exports are expected to begin in 2015.
