USA Compression Partners LP, Austin, said its fleet horsepower has increased 38.9% to 1.3 million hp (1000 MW), compared to the same period last year, aided in part by its acquisition of 138,000 hp (103 MW) from S&R Compression in August 2013.
Natural gas production from the Marcellus Shale in in West Virginia and Pennsylvania has soared to 15 Bcfd (425 x 106 m3/d) from 2 Bfcd (56 x 106 m3/d) only 4 years ago, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Exterran Holdings Inc. said its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were US$161.1 million for the second quarter 2014, compared to US$144.8 million for the first quarter and US$176.1 million for the second quarter 2013.
EIA said that nearly midway through the summer storage injection season (the beginning of April through the end of October), it projects a record build of 2.6 Tcf (73 x 109 m3) will bring stocks to 3.4 Tcf (96 x 109 m3) by the beginning of winter.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has reported that although the number of natural gas-directed drilling rigs is particularly low at 250 rotaries, gas production has grown 5% year-over-year.
